The
New & upgraded Bajaj RE was officially unveiled in June, 2026 at Lancaster
Kumasi City Hotel, by Somoco Ghana Limited.
The
launch event brought together dealers, fleet owners, transport operators,
mechanics, and other stakeholders within the transport sector.
Representatives
from the National Union of Tricycle Operators Ghana (NUTOG), the Driver and
Vehicle Licensing Authority (DVLA), the Asokwa Municipal Assembly, and
financing partner Maxbalo were also in attendance, highlighting the growing
collaboration required to strengthen Ghana’s transportation industry.
Addressing
participants, Managing Director of Somoco Ghana Limited, Mr. Nii Ayi Hyde,
reaffirmed the company’s focus on delivering practical, dependable, and
affordable vehicles tailored to local needs.
The
upgraded Bajaj RE Tricycle features a reverse gear for easier maneuverability,
a more powerful engine, improved fuel efficiency, enhanced passenger comfort,
and greater earning potential for operators.
Beyond
the unveiling, the event provided an opportunity for industry players to
exchange ideas on the future of transport.
It
also reflects Somoco’s commitment to supporting Ghanaian entrepreneurs and
creating opportunities to empower the youth within the mobility & transport
sector.
