As part of its commitment to improving access to safe water and supporting community development, Polytanks Ghana, in collaboration with A-Ensonga Hearts, a non-governmental organization, has commissioned and handed over a mechanized borehole to the Gowrie community in the Bongo District.

The water project, which comprises a mechanized borehole, a 10,000-litre Polytank, and a water distribution system, will serve the Community-Based Health Planning and Services (CHPS) compound and the Gowrie Kindergarten School. It is expected to provide a reliable source of clean water for healthcare workers, pregnant women, schoolchildren, and other members of the community.

Speaking at the official handover ceremony, the Assembly Member for the Gowrie Electoral Area, James Akuribila Nyaaba, described the project as a timely intervention that would significantly improve sanitation, healthcare delivery, and the overall well-being of residents.

The ceremony brought together key stakeholders, including the Chief of the area, Naba Atongo Cletus Aduko, community leaders, health officials, and residents, all of whom expressed their appreciation to Polytanks Ghana and A-Ensonga Hearts for the impactful initiative.

Polytanks Ghana, is partnering with the Ghana Plumbers Association (GPA) to help improve standards in the plumbing profession in Ghana.

The partnership, which is under the leadership of the Chartered Institute of Plumbing and Heating Engineers, Ghana, the policy arm of the association, is expected to help unify all plumbers under one umbrella by providing them with skills training in current trends in plumbing and heating systems.

This collaboration with the institute is also expected to help bridge the existing gap between the brand Polytank and the plumbers, empowering an enhanced relationship that will enable Polytanks to better respond to market needs with the direct contributions of the plumbers.

On March 22, Polytanks Ghana joined the rest of the world to mark this year’s World Water Day by donating a 15,000-litre Polytank and four pieces of 340-litre dustbins to the Ghana Police Hospital.

The donation forms part of Polytanks’ social commitment to assist the Police Hospital in enhancing the quality of healthcare services for their staff and civilian residents in the adjoining communities.

The items were received by the Director of Nursing Service, C/Supt. Dr. Kennedy B. Japiong, in the company of other senior officers of the hospital. He expressed gratitude to the management of Polytank for the support, noting that it will not only benefit the staff of the service but also contribute to the well-being of the community they serve.

Polytank Ghana and the Rugby League Federation Ghana (RLFG) have announced a groundbreaking partnership in support of the 2024 Rugby League 13s Championship season. 

This collaboration is aimed at helping to develop and promote rugby as a strong community sport across the country.

According to the Business Head for Polytank Ghana, Mr. Girender Mohinani, the sport embodies attributes and values of strength, durability, and power that align with what Polytank Ghana stands for and seeks to provide to the Ghanaian consumer through its innovative range of products.

Following this official announcement, the two parties have collaborated on sustainability initiatives including a beach clean-up exercise during the World Clean-up Day, as Polytank Ghana prepares to launch its rPET factory in Ghana.

The group, also known as the Buzstopboys, attracted public attention after cleaning popular cruddy areas in Accra and desilting chocked gutters with subpar tools.

The KFC Care Initiative is a bold move by Masco Foods to distribute five hundred packs of KFC meals every month to school children, orphanages, and the most vulnerable in our communities.

The program, which falls within a broader Mohinani Food Program, an intermittent food intervention in dire circumstances, aims to spread joy, encouragement, and warmth where they’re needed most.

At the time of this publication, fifteen basic schools and counting, as well as seven orphanages and special schools spread across the Greater Accra, Eastern, Northern, Bono, and Central regions, had benefited from this initiative, with over one thousand street children also receiving their share. Other social institutions, including the Nuguchi Memorial Institute at the University of Ghana, have also welcomed the meal van at their facilities.

The Mohinani Food Program as a core component of the Mohinani CSR reflects the Group’s sense of compassion, responsibility, and giving back to the communities we serve.

As part of our long-standing commitment to community development and access to essential resources, the Mohinani Group has constructed a borehole water facility for the people of Gazawa, a rural community in Kano State, Nigeria.

Commissioned in July 2025, the facility has significantly improved access to clean and safe drinking water for hundreds of residents who have long faced water scarcity and the health risks associated with unsafe water sources.

Before this intervention, the decent people of Gazawa depended on an unsafe open well that often ran dry and posed serious health and safety risks. With the new borehole, families now enjoy sustainable access to clean water for drinking, household use, and farming.

Community leaders and residents expressed deep appreciation for the intervention, describing it as a timely and life-changing gesture.

The Gazawa project is but one of the several interventions we’re making in health, education, environmental sustainability, and infrastructural development as part of our CSR projects in Ghana and Nigeria.

Somoco Ghana, as part of its ongoing community engagement efforts, presented a variety of gift items to the Ga Traditional Council in support of this year’s Ga Homowo Festival in the Greater Accra region of Ghana.

The donation at the Ga Mantse Palace in Accra included five Boxer 125X motorbikes, assorted beverages, bottled water, and cash. Additionally, two Bruhm UHD Smart OS LED TVs were presented on behalf of Somotex Ghana Limited.

The Ga Mantse, King Tackie Teiko Tsuru II, expressed heartfelt gratitude for the generous contribution, speaking through his linguist. He commended the delegation for their support but also encouraged more consistent engagement beyond the festival season to promote sustainable development of the Ga State.

The Ga Homowo Festival, celebrated annually in the Greater Accra Region of Ghana, is a culturally significant event that marks harvest and thanksgiving. It draws participation from communities, leaders, and institutions across the city.

The Mohinani Group, in 2025, fully renovated the classroom and administrative block it originally built for the Amanokrom Presby Junior High School in the Eastern Region of Ghana.

The renovation project, which forms part of the Group’s continued commitment to education and community development, included structural refurbishments, new roofing, upgraded windows and doors, and a fresh coat of paint. The administrative block also received much-needed upgrades to enhance functionality and provide a more conducive environment for teaching and learning.

The administrative block, built a few decades ago, was named after Devi Mohinani, the mother of the late Mr. Ramchand Mohinani, our founder, and signifies a strong tie between the Mohinani family and the royal house of Amanokrom.

Similar support has been extended to the Manya Jorpanya Basic School, also located in the eastern region of Ghana—the school building has received a significant infrastructural facelift and an enhanced teaching and learning atmosphere in line with the Mohinani’s commitment to quality education.

The Impact Care and Rehabilitation Foundation, a facility dedicated to children with special needs in Accra, is one of several institutions the Mohinani Group has consistently supported under the Diversity and Inclusion pillar of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts.

In 2023, the Group donated essential supplies, including meals and bottled water, to ensure the children received proper nourishment and care. Through its retail subsidiary, Electromart, Mohinani also provided a double-door refrigerator, improving the center’s ability to safely store food and medical supplies.

Demonstrating deeper commitment, the Group went further by covering the full cost of surgery for an infant with hydrocephalus who had been abandoned at the center, paying rent for the facility’s accommodation, donating six pediatric chairs for the children, and offering a cash token to support stipends and general operations.

Beyond Impact Care, Mohinani has extended support to several other orphanages and special needs institutions across Ghana, including the Chosen Children’s Home (for street children, orphans, and substance-affected youth), Teshie Children’s Home, Nyame-Dua Orphanage Home, Christ Faith Foster Home, Epicenter Special School in Gbawe, and the Yumba Special School in Tamale.

Accra, February 2022:  

The Mohinani Group, through its premier water storage brand- Polytank, has donated tanks worth over GHC 32,000 to the Apiate Community to help provide the residents with clean drinking water. The timely gesture is in response to a national call by the National Disaster Management Organization (NADMO) to assist the victims with Polytanks to enable them get access to portable water following the explosion that occurred in the community two weeks ago. 

The full trailer load of Polytanks were made up of four pieces of 10,000 litre tanks popularly known as Rambo 1,000 and six pieces of 2,500 litre Sumo tank capacities. The donation which was made to NADMO on behalf of the community formed part of the Group’s corporate social responsibility to ensure that all vulnerable and marginalized Ghanaians are provided with access to clean drinking safe water especially in times of severe national disasters. 

In a statement, Mr. Ashok Mohinani, the Executive Director of the Mohinani Group, expressed heartfelt condolences to the families of the fatalities of the disaster. Mr. Ashok also wished the speedy recovery to those injured and prayed for the total healing for all the affected within the community. He emphasised that, as a brand, Polytank truly cares about the wellbeing of Ghanaians especially in improving access to safe drinking water. This, he added, was the company’s contribution to helping the country achieve Goal 6 of the UN Sustainable Development Goals.  

Mr. Ashok expressed Polytank Ghana’s commitment to help in rebuilding the Apiate community saying “our donation today is a testament of our brand’s promise to help alleviate the effects of the aftermath of the explosion”. He therefore urged the Chiefs and residents of the Apiate community to maintain the Polytanks in order to benefit future generations.

Masco Foods, franchise holders of KFC Ghana, in collaboration with Vida e Caffe, have donated food items to the aged in the music and film industries through the Ministry of Tourism.

The event, which took place at the Accra Tourist Information Centre (ATIC), was intended to cushion the elderly people impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic.

Among other food supplies, cartons of milk, tomato paste, oil, tinned fish, and sugar were presented to be distributed to the aged in the creative arts industry.

The minister of tourism, Hon. Barbara Oteng Gyasi, who received the items, expressed her gratitude to the KFC and Vida e Caffe for the kind gesture, affirming that the step was in the right direction.

The gift to the creative arts industry comes months after KFC Ghana gave over 5,000 boxed meals to street people and the less privileged in twenty communities in Accra and Kumasi.

These meals were distributed at the Chorkor, Korlebu Motuary Road, Accra Mall, 37, National Theatre, Mallam Atta Market, Abofu, and Achimota areas. In the Ashanti region, some residents of Asokwa, Kwadaso, Aboabo, and Anloga also benefited from KFC's generous act.
